"Our assistant principal was doing after school duty and several students approached her and said it was the best assembly they had ever been to. One boy was carrying his book in front of him on his upturned palms and was telling the other students 'Don't touch my book!'"

"What a great week this was for The Looking Glass Wars, with Frank Beddor charming school audiences around my territory. He spoke to a series of schools here in North Carolina, including a group of more 300 kids at Ravenscroft School. He also entertained the kids at Salem Middle School and then spoke to the Newbery Club after school, before heading off for Atlanta. I really enjoyed seeing him in action again. It never fails to amaze me how powerful his presentation is and how much the kids can relate to him. Later in the week he appeared at Square Books in Oxford, Mississippi, where Lauren reported that the response was 'electric'."
"Wow, what a week for The Looking Glass Wars... it started out with Frank Beddor giving a great presentation on Wednesday to the 4th and 5th graders at Glennwood Elementary School (he later spoke to a class at Decatur High School). I've never had such a great time at an author event... the kids were enthralled with him and the story. The best part was when he was 'auditioning' kids for roles in the movie. The folks from Little Shop of Stories (Decatur, GA) and I were howling! One girl asked when casting calls would go out for the REAL movie. Well, the next day it all broke loose... Diane Capriola, Little Shop's owner, said that she was besieged with calls from parents who were looking for this book that their children 'had to have'. Diane decided to hold on to the unsold books from the event because they were selling at such a rate afterwards. When I was in there on Friday morning, she had sold more copies of LGW than she had of the new Lemony Snicket book (which debuted that day)."
"I had promised to put in writing the great story of Frank Beddor's day here with us from Third Place Books. He enchanted two groups of students of about 110 each, at two elementary schools. He was delightful and a joy to work with."
"Frank was amazing, so much energy, such talent and charm. WOW! That school will long remember his gracious visit. I really am trying to find some other school for him. He is a treasure. The school has already called to say thanks again. We are very grateful."
"I appreciate the fact that you came to my school to visit! Thank you thank you. Everyone loved your message. To tell you the truth, you are the best author i have ever had in an author visit! Those who didn't order the book regreted it. Come back to my school to visit anytime! You are always welcome! Good luck on your 2nd and 3rd book!"
